Politics in the English Language

The famous author, George Orwell, has been recognized for his amazing work in different novels that represent society and what we are as humans. In the article the called "Politics in the English Language" Orwell shows how language has changed and the effects that the change has had of us.

People have consistently mixed up different words meanings to create a false identity of what that word actually means. Political words like democracy and freedom have zero meaning now because we have used them in the wrong context so much. This is a problem because the meaning of these words could differ between people and then we are ultimately unable to communicate with each other on a bigger level.

Another problem with language is that we use words that we do not fully understand. This can lead to different meanings of the word if it is used wrong. Writers especially, try to use bigger words to seem smarter but in the end it is wrong and it could effect the future of that word or language if you influence others thoughts as well.

Lastly, an important part of our language that is being effected is what we believe. Others thoughts can influence out own. Sometimes it is for the good and others it is bad. If they have bad language and their meanings of different words, it could then change our own thoughts and opinions but not actually in the right way. This is a long spiral. Ultimately, know the language that you speak and communicate with others with to have a better understanding of the world.
