Persuaders

The documentary The Persuaders gave us as viewers an insight to what companies think and tactics that they use to try to get more people to buy the product. As humans, we are very particular about what, where and when we want to see these ads. It is hard for companies to be successful into trapping viewers to buy their product, but once they do, then they are able to get our money.

Companies advertise towards what we want, rather than what we need. We want love, friendship and fun but we do not need a car or a phone. However, humans buy the product because they think that the product will lead to this happening. Advertising becomes a detailed process because if it is not done right, then it will fail. Viewers want to be advertised without know that they are or want the product without needing it.

Companies use of language is very important too. The mental connection between the word and the product is vital because the mental association in the human brain creates a desire for the product. This is how ads are effective because they display to the human what they need before they wanted it. Ultimately, advertising is very hard for companies because they have to get inside the viewers head and see what they really need.
